ICONE will make an analysis of the Greenhouse Gases emissions in the ethanol productive chain, related to land use change. The objective is to determine the emissions associates to the expansion of the demand of ethanol by means of an allocation methodology.
The work will be developed in three phases:
1ª stage: Estimate the coefficients of displacement of productive uses and native vegetation;
2ª stage: Establishment of cause-effect relation between expansion of ethanol demand and native vegetation conversion;
3ª stage: Measure the Greenhouse Gases emissions associates to the expansion of the consumption.
