Summary

The second phase of this project was to prepare the working papers on the biofuel sectors of the nine countries in the Asia Latin-America Agri-Food Research Network (ALARN). These studies analysed the policies adopted to develop the sector, the production levels and the social and environmental problems in each country. The international seminar in Bogor (Indonesia) in 2008 became a platform for disseminating the work and the conclusions that were published in 2009 as the booklet “Overview of the Biofuels sectors in selected Asian and Latin America Countries”.
